A major plot point in the book was Cathy seeking revenge against her mother, but since Corrine was killed off in the theatrical version, my guess was the sequel would have had Cathy seeking revenge against the grandmother. Kristy Swanson described the script as a "sex fest", as Cathy becomes involved with several men including her brother Christopher (as in the book) but as most of the incest was cut out of the film (a few hints left here and there), it makes you wonder how the relationship between Cathy and Chris would have been explained and shown in the sequel. I did a review and comparison of both film versions of "Flowers In The Attic" a while back - I also noted the UK Blu-Ray release of the original film in March 2018; it contains special features, such as the original shooting script, interviews (Jeb Stuart Adams confirmed that the original cut of the film did feature some mild and modest kissing and cuddling scenes between Cathy and Chris that were edited out of the final cut after a negative reaction at a test screening) and the original ending. The Blu-Ray will get an official release on December 17 of this year and can be pre-ordered at Amazon. I will always prefer the 1987 film and I felt that the Lifetime movie was a disaster for the most part. Neiderman got stuck in a rut what with the incest and evil grandmothers and all. Plus, VC had an unparalleled gift for purple prose. He likes simple sentences. Gag.
